JonPaul Kaiser show at Yoyamart on Oct 11

Our friend JonPaul Kaiser is going to leap across the pond in October and run wild in the streets of Manhattan. Be warned. October 11, Toy2R has foolishly invited JPK to invade Yoyamart, a fashion and style trendsetting boutique on Gansevoort Street, where he will not doubt blow every single mind that walks through the door. Literally.

No, sorry, I meant figuratively. JPK is a giant, amazingly sweet man who I am very proud to call a friend. His talents really need no introduction. He understands form and composition, and his steady hands have brought to life some of the most brilliant custom toys that ever sold in 3.5 milliseconds at our NYCC booth. I'm stoked to meet up with JPK again. We can all expect to see beautiful Toy2R production toys, as well as custom toys, by JPK at this show.

Oct. 11th, by the way, is the opening day/preview night of NYCC 2012, so any of you in town for the Con will be able to scoot easily over to Yoyamart, which is on the west side, reasonably close to the Javits Center. See y'all there.

Rsin customs: Nerviswr3k collab, Skullhead, Rebel Ink, Whisper Bee & Little Lotus project contribution

I love getting emails from my friend Rsin. They're usually dealing with some business or project we have planned, or NYCC, or something. He's always super friendly and asks about my wife and all the usual pleasantries... and then there's "oh by the way, here are some things I've been working on, maybe you can blog some of them" and he'll attach like 6 pictures of some of the most amazing and sought-after custom toys ever made...
Above we have his contribution to the Army of Snipers / Little Lotus Project, which was funded in part by contributions from artists like the above 10" custom Rsin MadL.

Next we have a collab piece between Rsin and Nerviswr3k: I think Nervis did the sculpt here, and he sent it to Rsin to paint. Sick.
Next is a custom Rebel Ink figure, which I happen to know is one of Rsin's favorite sculpts to customize.
... and a riff on Rsin's Whispers style, the Whisper Bee, done on an 8" Kidrobot Dunny.
... and finally, as if you weren't feeling faint with envy already, someone somewhere owns this fucking absurd custom 8" Huck Gee Skullhead Dunny. So insane, it's wrong...  well, it's only wrong because that person isn't me.
Anyway, there ya have it. Drool away at the Rsin awesomeness.
I happen to know that 2012 is going to be an EVEN BIGGER year for Rsin. Plus he'll be at our NYCC booth again in October. With more space. And doing live art. So maybe, if you are real nice, and real lucky, you'll watch Rsin paint up a figure like one of these in person, in front of your own eyes. Bring your video camera and a wad of cash because there's going to be a lot of cool stuff to buy.

Go follow Rsin on Facebook. He also has a blog and a Flickr page.

Matt Anderson's The Reaver custom 16" Qee at our NYCC booth

Behold: The Reaver, a new, as yet unseen, custom 16" Toy2R Qee by Matt Anderson! Will be for sale at NYCC Booth 876, where we'll be hosting this biggest, baddest custom show you've ever seen at a comic-con. The Reaver is priced at $2,500, and it's one-of-a-kind.

I was just talking to Kevin Winnik (President of Toy2RUSA) today and he asked me if we were going to be able to fit the customs we're bringing into the booth.
Yes, I answered, yes, it'll be tight, but they'll fit.  Sure. *wink*

Somewhere, among a few hundred Toy2R production toys by JPK, Jason Freeny, Emilio Garcia, we're going to have about 75 custom Qees crammed into every corner of the booth.
It will be the definitive mecca at NYCC for those of you who dig custom toys. Everything from 2.5" custom Qees by Rampage Toys, all the way up to eight or nine 16" custom Qees towering above your head....
Not to mention resin toys, and even custom Qees incorporating cast resin pieces! Madness.
Expect many, many more posts here about the insane customs as we run up to NYCC. Booth 876.
Come and play!

Tenacious Toys NYCC Exclusive Molezilla, plus more fine work by Bob Conge

Above is the beautiful "Tenacious blue" NYCC Exclusive Molezilla, painted up for us by Bob Conge of Plaseebo for our NYCC booth. Price will be $100 even, and there are only 5 of them, so get to booth 876 early! We have Bob signing in a group signing along with fellow toy warlords Mike "NEMO" Mendez and Rob "OsirisOrion" Ingellis at 3PM on Saturday October 15th.

Bob just started using Monster Kolor paint, so I thought it might be nice to show everyone some of his most recent pieces he's created using Monster Kolor (these are Bob's own platforms). These are pieces he recently uploaded to the MK forums:

Not coincidentally, we'll also be selling a selection of Monster Kolor paints, hosting customs by Matt Walker of Monster Kolor, and we will have some giveaways of MK paint from time to time at our booth! Better just plant yourself at booth 876 and stay there. Matt Walker will be there in person!

Mike "NEMO" Mendez featured on our NYCC postcard

This year, since we are teaming up with Toy2R on a NYCC booth (#876), we wanted to go heavy on the presentation of the Toy2R product line. We therefore decided to stick a Qee on our NYCC marketing materials. We chose the 5" Mini Qee Toyer as our featured product, a sweet $15 DIY platform toy offered by Toy2R. Our side of the postcard shows a Mini Qee Toyer customized by local hero/artist Mike Mendez, aka NEMO. The reverse side, the Toy2R side, shows the Mini Qee platfrom in all its beautiful, clean, white glory, ready to be customized.

You can meet NEMO, along with Rob Ingellis and Bob Conge, at a group signing at 3PM on Saturday October 15th. These 3 artists are actively collaborating on a number of projects, so this is your chance to meet all three at once! Booth 876. Be there.

How are Japanese soft vinyl toys (sofubi) made? Watch this video!

Jon Malmstedt, owner of Rampage Toys, goes with his friend Velocitron to a mom & pop mini factory in Tokyo to watch the creation of soft vinyl toys. Velocitron explains to Jon some of the process, and you can watch it with your own eyes... Mysteries revealed!

We are all very excited for the release of the Rampage Toys Ugly Unicorn sofubi, which is in production now! Preorders are currently available in the Rampage Toys shop for the red and yellow colorways. If production proceeds without a hitch, Tenacious Toys will also be selling an exclusive blue colorway at booth 876 at the 2011 New York Comic Con in October.
