NEMO has released the third of his 3 Tribesmen series of Doodle Budz figures- this one is the Mad Guru Bud. The previous two were the Blue Bud and the Voodoo Bud.

Bad Applez Online Group Show Opens February 14

Bad Applez Inc, a company cooked up by Rob "OsirisOrion" Ingellis and Mike "NEMO" Mendez, is having its first group show featuring dozens of apples customized by artists around the world. You are invited to drop by the Bad Applez website tomorrow, February 14th, to view the custom show when it goes live. Be there, no matter what your girlfriend says. She might even like it. I guarantee you will see funny videos by some of your favorite artists, as well as a whole big mess of awesome custom applez. Yes, that is the new, accepted way of spelling the plural of "apple". Deal with it.

I'm a Bad Apple Group Show

Not surprisingly, my friends OsirisOrion and NEMO have pulled together an all-star roster of artists for their first online group custom show. Celebrating the launch of their new company Bad Applez, Inc., this show uses apples (plastic apples) as the platform for the customs. 

The show goes live online on February 14th, so you can all attend, no matter where you live! Expect some sick customs. I've been able to see some of them already, and the ones I've seen are all incredibly impressive. Lots of effort and innovation have gone into the pieces.

Bad Applez launching with "I'm a Bad Apple" online group show

My friends and talented artists Mike NEMO Mendez and Rob OsirisOrion Ingellis are celebrating the launch of their company Bad Applez Inc. with an online group show they're calling "I'm a Bad Apple." Bad Applez Inc. is currently self-producing resin figures as well as garage kits that harken back to the good old days of DIY toy creation. 

Going live on Valentine's Day (February 14, for us idiot guys who might actually forget the date), the Bad Applez show will feature the works of 30 talented artists. You might have surmised that an apple will be the platform for this show- not rotten old real apples, but nice cheap plastic apples that NEMO found. You might have seen some of them posted on Facebook by the artists that received the platforms!

We are proud to announce that we will be at NYCC this year and even more exciting Bob Conge aka Plaseebo has jumped on board to do our first run of Space Junk Destroyer resin figures! The NYCC edition of
Space Junk Destroyer is limited to 5 pcs. and will be priced at $220 each! Bob has really knocked this out of the park! He sculpted custom claws for the figure and has added his signature paint sprays and glass eyes!

Bad Applez, Inc. has released a clay sketch by NEMO in their shop here. This is a sick one-off piece, handcrafted by Mike "NEMO" Mendez. You can find Mike and Rob, founders of Bad Applez, at our NYCC booth for a signing on Saturday, October 15th at 3PM. Booth 876!

This year, since we are teaming up with Toy2R on a NYCC booth (#876), we wanted to go heavy on the presentation of the Toy2R product line. We therefore decided to stick a Qee on our NYCC marketing materials. We chose the 5" Mini Qee Toyer as our featured product, a sweet $15 DIY platform toy offered by Toy2R. Our side of the postcard shows a Mini Qee Toyer customized by local hero/artist Mike Mendez, aka NEMO. The reverse side, the Toy2R side, shows the Mini Qee platfrom in all its beautiful, clean, white glory, ready to be customized.

You can meet NEMO, along with Rob Ingellis and Bob Conge, at a group signing at 3PM on Saturday October 15th. These 3 artists are actively collaborating on a number of projects, so this is your chance to meet all three at once! Booth 876. Be there.

NEMO Steel Warrior bootleg custom

NEMO's first Steel Warrior custom

NEMO's at it again, raiding the Queens 99-cent stores for platforms for his customs. NEMO is the brain behind the Rollie Show, our very first custom show which used 99-cent Avon-brand roll-on deodorant bottles as a platform for the customs. NEMO's a big fan of spending as little as possible on the platform, and using your own creativity to turn a cheap piece of plastic into something beautiful.

Not long ago, NEMO stumbled upon a treasure trove of these 5-inch Iron Man bootleg figures called "Steel Warriors". They were priced at 99 cents each, so he bought a case of them. For his first custom on this illicit platform, NEMO chose the Tenacious Toys team colors- white and medium blue- and painted up a weathered, armored, bootleg custom just for us! 

NEMO says he was surprised at the quality of the toy- it's articulated, the helmet flips up and the armor plates are removable! Not a bad find for 99 cents! We will be the exclusive retailer of NEMO's Steel Warrior bootleg customs. More to come, stay tuned!
