JC Rivera Most Wanted Madness 1:AM Gallery...

JC Rivera is a custom making madness machine. As you can see from the photo above he used multiple different bases to create these eerie and haunting customs. The skulls, the use of the color red and horns has these customs heading towards a western theme for me. Reminds me of the dead half eaten cow skulls that cowboys would find when out riding a trail. Oh So Sweet custom Munny by JC Rivera for The Candy-Coated Custom Show

JC Rivera has sent us images of his Oh So Sweet custom Munny which he did for our April 21 custom toy show The Candy Coated Custom Show. JC is one of about 38 artists submitting pieces to the show. 

Although JC will not be able to come in from Chicago, you will be able to meet and chat up many of the artists in the show at the opening night party: April 21 from 7 to 9 pm at The London Candy Company, 1442 Lexington Ave, NY, NY.

Instagram Mascot by JC Rivera

A little while back, JC Rivera came up with this striking character based on the Instagram logo. He's already shown it to the people at Instagram and received their support, so he obtained the legal permissions necessary to develop this idea further.
JC enlisted the help of Scott Wetterschneider of www.shinbonecreative.com who digitally sculpted this figure, and now comes the difficult part: what's the next step in this project? Well, we'll all have to wait and see what JC decides, but I am assisting him in any way I can to help bring this project to fruition. What do you guys think? The next Andrew Bell Android?

JC Rivera Tequila custom commission

I am constantly completely impressed by JC Rivera's consistently excellent customs. I've never seen a poor or even average piece from him. Every single piece is top-notch. 

This is JC's recent commission: a Muttpop Tequila figure. With huge muscles on a fairly large platform, the Tequila figure has always begged to be customized. This character is Albert "El Pheonix" Huertas.  

The undefeated champ fought his last fight at the age of 45 to show the world that he was still the #1 in world.

JC Rivera custom Calavera Dunny and Munko

JC Rivera has an amazing eye for composition. His delicate custom paint work on the David Choe Munko figure above is exquisite- just enough detail to create a fully-realized  piece of art, yet minimal enough to work perfectly within the simple form of the Munko figure. This piece is about 3 inches tall, and it doesn't come witha crown- that's JC's addition in resin. I suppose the crown is sort of his  signature- he incorporates a crown into many of his pieces.

At the same time, there's noting subtle about the other piece JC emailed to us: this wild custom 8" Calavera Dunny has also been blessed by JC's sculpting and painting. This one was based on a 3" Calavera Dunny JC did last month- it came out so nice that a customer commissioned him to do an 8" version, so regrettably, it's already sold. In typical Benny fashion, I did not make this blog post fast enough to give you a crack at buying the Munko- it's sold as well.

Riker's Island Death Row Inmates custom Dunny series by JC Rivera

"... and so, as punishment for your heinous crimes, I hereby sentence each of you to death by lethal injection. You are remanded to Death Row on Riker's Island to await your executions. Court adjourned."

With the pounding of Judge Gerety's gavel against his desk, the fates of the five criminals were sealed. The prosecuting attorney and the D.A. shook hands as the Inmates were led away in shackles through a door in the front of the courtroom. Reporters screamed a cacophony of questions and flashbulbs went off like strobe lights as the Inmates stepped into the beat-up, white DOC van. The short ride over the bridge to Riker's Island would be the longest ride of their lives. It was over.

TazX and I worked  on a 3" Dunny and a mini munny. We wanted to combine our styles to see what would come up from it. We created some creatures that we called them Oozie Huntmouths.
These are Half Rusted Machines and Half creatures.
